Spend control for non-profits

Due to the nature of non-profit business models, budgets are limited and often determined from outside the organization. At the same time, the spending needs of non-profits are not that different that for profits businesses since they have all the same ongoing costs like salaries, utilities, and reimbursement expenses.

Non-profits have stricter requirements for transparency and authorizations for who has access to financial information. Generally this results in a technology gap with for profit resources. Outsourcing finance functions allows for “external staff” to set controls and permissions to ensure all requirements are being adhered to and those with oversight, like Board Directors have full and transparent reporting.

For delivering these services to non-profits, accountants must know the processes within these organization and can ensure the correct and compliant financial controls are installed, maintained, and updated as needed.
